McClure, Frank Rhykerd

Frank R.. McClure, 93, of Galesburg, died 1:27 P.M. Saturday, January 13, 2007, at Seminary Manor, Galesburg.

He was born June 1, 1913 in Cameron, IL, the son of Glenn and Mary (Rhykerd) McClure.  He attended Shortsville Grade School and attended Galesburg High School.

Frank married Twila Murdock on February 21, 1934 in Cameron, IL and she preceded him in death on April 2, 1963.  He married Frances M. Standard on September 30, 1989 in Monmouth and she preceded him in death on May 24, 2004.

He farmed all of his working life, feeding cattle.  His family and grandchildren were his main interest.  He loved going to auctions.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth and the Knox County Farm Bureau.

His family includes one daughter, Maxine (Russell) Stewart of Monmouth, one son, Roger (Tamara) McClure of St. Augustine, Il, step-daughter, Bonnie (Roger) Boostrom of Rock Island, two step-sons, Neal (Pam) Standard of Golden, CO and Dale Standard of Milan, IL , 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son, Dale McClure, 5 sisters and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be 10:30 Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Keith Killinger of the First Lutheran Church.  Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg.  Friends may call on Tuesday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel where his family will be present from 5:30 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.  Memorials may be left for the First Lutheran Church.
