Thompson, Mildred Louise

Mildred L. Thompson, 88, of Monmouth died at 11:15 A.M. Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Community Medical Center, Monmouth.

She was born January 7, 1918 in Edina, Missouri, the daughter of Henry J. and Catherine (Slater) Thompson.  She was raised in Edina, Mo and Monmouth, IL. graduating from Monmouth High School.

She worked as a clerk for the Great Lakes Navel Station in Waukegan, IL. She also worked for the Galesburg Mayo General Hospital.  She later worked for Illinois Bankers Life Co. for 18 years.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church as well as the Altar and Rosary Society.

Her family includes numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, 5 brothers and 10 sisters preceded her in death.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Monmouth.  Officiating will be Fr. Michael Monclova.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Friends may call  n Tuesday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to the services.  Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Church.
