Godina, Pablo P.
Pablo P. Godina, 79, of Monmouth died at 3:50 A.M. Saturday, March 31, 2007 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
He was born November 18, 1927 in Jalisco, Mexico the son of Precilano and Jacova (Perez) Godina. He was raised and educated in Jalisco, Mexico.
Pablo married Maria Solorzano in Jalisco, Mexico on January 9, 1953 and she survives.
Pablo was a farmer in Mexico. Upon moving to Monmouth, Pablo worked at the DeKalb Seed Plant in Monmouth for several years. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and working in his yard
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth.
Surviving are his wife, Maria Godina of Monmouth; 6 sons, Jose Godina, Teodoro (Maria) Godina, Jesus (Maria) Godina, Moises Godina, Adolfo (Martha) Godina and Pablo (Gloria) Godina all of Monmouth; 2 daughters, Emma (Lauro) Alcala and Magdalena (Jaun) Alcala both of Monmouth; 20 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ignacio Godina and Fidensio Godina both of Mexico; 1 sister, Aurora Godina of Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jesus Godina and one brother, Jesus Godina.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Monmouth with Fr. Michael Monclova officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Monmouth. Friends may call Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present from 5:00-8:00 P.M.
