Cavanaugh, Corrine Mae

Corrine Mae Cavanaugh, 84, of Monmouth died at 10:15 P.M. Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Courtyard Estates in Monmouth.

She was born September 23, 1922 in Chatsworth, Illinois the daughter of Stircow and Ersie Mae (Piercy) Beck.  She was raised and educated in Chatsworth, Illinois, graduating from Chatsworth Township High School in 1940.  She later graduated from the Peoria Institute of Business, Peoria.

Corrine married William Donald Cavanaugh in Peoria, Illinois on November 15, 1941 and he died October 20, 1998. She followed her husband Don during his service in the U.S. Army during World War II from October 1942 until February 1946.

Corrine was a homemaker.  She also enjoyed quilting, reading and playing the piano.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth, where she played the organ for numerous years.  She was also a member of the Parent Teacher Association.

Surviving are her 5 children, William  Cavanaugh Jr. of Lantana, Florida, Patricia (Ron) Fritz of Morris, IL, Dennis Cavanaugh of Bayfield, Colorado, Timothy (Carrie) Cavanaugh of South Lyon, MI, and John (Jana) Cavanaugh of Monmouth, IL; 10 grandchildren, Richard Cavanaugh of Boyton Beach FL, Crystal Cavanaugh,  Maria Cavanaugh both of Lantana, FL, Heather Fritz of Ballwin, MO, William Joseph Cavanaugh of Salt Lake City UT, Christy Cavanaugh of Bloomington, IN, Sara Cavanaugh of Plano, TX, Catherine Cavanaugh of South Lyon, MI, Thomas  Cavanaugh of South Lyon, MI, and  Nicholas Cavanaugh of Monmouth, IL; 1 sister, Gwen Evans of Lakeland, FL; 3 brothers, Thomas Beck of Okala, FL, William Beck of Colfax, IL and John Robert Beck of Midland, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 3 sisters, Virginia Beck, Jenette Curtis          and Blanche Lane.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel  of Monmouth with Rev. Jon Sims officiating.   Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth.  Friends may call Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present one hour prior to the services.  Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church or Community Hospices of America.
