Olson, Dayzie Ruth

Dayzie R.Olson, 85, of Alexis, died 7:25 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2007 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

She was born February 26, 1922 in Galesburg, IL, the daughter of Louis T. and Emma (Humphrey) Guenther.

She was reared wand educated in Galesburg, IL.

She married John Ted Olson in Kahoka, Missouri, where they eloped with Charles and Betty Dahl on September 21, 1940.  Her husband, Ted, preceded her in death on December 17, 1997.

She was a homemaker and loved her flowers and animals.

She was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church where she had served as Sunday School teacher and Deacon.

Surviving are three sons, Ted (Connie) Olson, Larry (Kate) Olson and Roger (Alicia) Olson all of Alexis, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one sister Velma (Bob) Schisler of Jacksonville, IL along with nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Phil Cooper.  Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery.  Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. on Monday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorial may be left for the Alexis United Presbyterian Church.
