Carol L. Ross, 72, of Kirkwood, Illinois died at 9:35 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2008 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg

She was born January 18, 1935 in Kirkwood, Illinois the daughter of Archie and Mildred (Mann) Henrikson.  She was raised and educated in Kirkwood, graduating from Kirkwood High School.  She later attended Carl Sandburg College.

Carol married Robert L. Ross in Kirkwood at the Westminster Presbyterian Church on October 9, 1955 and he died November 28, 2006

Carol worked as a teacher’s aid in the Yorkwood School District for several years.  She enjoyed crafts, needlework, sewing and jigsaw puzzles.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons.

She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Kirkwood and PEO.

Surviving are her three children, Mike (Patty) Ross of Summerville, South Carolina, Cathy Ross of Kirkwood and Ron (Dana) Ross of Kirkwood; 5 grandsons, Aaron Ross, Eric Ross, Alex Ross, Darrin Ross and Sullivan Ross; two brothers, Harold (Marcy) Henrikson of S. Elgin, IL and Richard (Kathy) Rowley of Monmouth, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Dottie Halverson of the Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating.  Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood.  Friends may call Wednesday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present one hour prior to the services.  Memorials may be given to the Westminster Presbyterian Church
