Bickell, Ruby

Ruby Elizabeth Bickell, 85, of Monmouth died at 7:43 A.M. Monday, March 31, 2008 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.

She was born in Seaton, Illinois the daughter of Gustaf and Ann (Lundeen) Anderson.  She was reared and educated in Seaton and graduated from Alexis High School in 1940. She also graduated from Morris Beauty School in Galesburg.

Ruby married Floyd L. Willett in 1942.  She later married William J. Bickell in Monmouth in 1969 and he preceded her in death in 1998.

She was a homemaker and Beautician.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed flowers.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth where she was a member of the Sarah Circle.  She was also a member of the Monmouth Post #2301VFW Ladies Auxiliary  and the Ladies Auxiliary Fraternal Order Of Eagles #2906.

Surviving are her son, Larry Dewayne (Betty) Willett of Galesburg,; 2 daughters, Anna Marie (Larry) Doubet of North Henderson and Anita Elaine (Paul) Creek of North Pole Alaska; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Marie (Gene) Corbin of Alexis; along with nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Gary Willett; one grandson, Zachary Creek and one brother.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2008 at the First Lutheran Church, Monmouth with Rev. Keith Killinger officiating Burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M .Memorials may be given to the First Lutheran Church of Monmouth.
