Margaret L. Hull, 89, of Monmouth, died 11:37 AM Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Graham Hospital, Canton, IL

She was born July 20, 1918 at DesMoines, IA, the daughter of John and Addie (Byers) Newbanks.

She was reared and educated in Creston, IA, Chicago and Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1935.

Margaret married George William Hull in Peoria on July 16, 1935 and he preceded her in death in July 1955.  She married Howard M. Hull in Woodhull, IL on Oct 6, 1956 and he preceded her in death in Sept 1989.

She first worked at Western Stoneware and then worked for Illinois Bankers Life for 17 years and then the State of Illinois for 20 years.  She loved to read, travel and loved animals.

Margaret was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 136 in Monmouth, Illinois Secretary Association and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Her family includes one son Raymond “Tiny” (Helen) Hull of Monmouth,  one daughter, Anne Sundberg of Alexis, two step-daughters, Donna (Charles) Reyburn and Betty (Gene) Lind, both of Galesburg, one step-son, Larry Hull of Monmouth, 5 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and two step grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 Monday, June 23, 2008 in Center Grove Cemetery, Kirkwood with Rev. Jon Sims of the First United Methodist Church of Monmouth.  Friends may call on Monday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth.  Her family will receive friends for one hour prior to the graveside service, until 10:45 AM on Monday.  Memorials may be left for Western Illinois Animal Rescue, Gordon Behrents Center, Galesburg or the American Legion Unit 136, Monmouth Kitchen Fund.
