Miller, Loren A .

Loren A. Miller, 96, of Monmouth, died 2:30 P.M., Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Oak Lane Nursing Center, Stronghurst, IL.

He was born February 17, 1912, in rural Warren County, IL the son of Clyde Weldon and Jessie Caroline (Clague) Miller.

He was raised and educated in Monmouth.

He married Mildred Sims on November 14, 1934 at Macomb and she preceded him in death in June 1992.

He was a farmer and had worked at Admiral for 6 years.  He also owned and operated Miller Trucking.  He enjoyed playing horseshoes and pool.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

His family includes one son, William (Marcia) Miller and one daughter, Shirley Myers both of Monmouth, 5 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, 3 step grandsons and a number of step great grandchildren.

He was preceded by his parents, wife, daughter Beverly, brother Lloyd Miller and sister Nedra Alexandra.

Cremation has been accorded.   Burial of ashes in Monmouth Cemetery will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2008 with Rev. Jon Sims of the First United Methodist Church.  There is no visitation.  Memorials may be left for Oak Lane Nursing Center, Stronghurst and may be left at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel who is charge of arrangements.
