Shull, Timothy Paul "Tiny"

Timothy P. “Tiny” Shull, 55, of Rio, IL, died 3:00 P.M., November 18, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle against colon cancer.

He was born June 23, 1953 at Jacksonville, IL, the son of Robert L. and Catherine (McGuire) Shull.  He was raised and educated in Alexis, graduating from Alexis High School in 1971.

Tiny married Julie A. Johnston in Las Vegas, NV on Dec. 13, 1996 and she survives.

He farmed for 35 years with McKee and Flack Farms of Rio.  He played in the North Henderson Men’s Fast Pitch Softball League.  He enjoyed taking his dog, Jessie, on a run with the 4 wheeler, cutting wood, fishing, picking corn and spending time with his wife, family and friends.

He was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Alexis, the Alexis North-Henderson Young Men’s Club and the Galesburg Prairie Drifters Snowmobile Club..

His family includes his wife, Julie, his loyal companion, Jessie, his father, Robert L. Shull of Alexis, three sisters, Kathleen (Jerry) Butcher of Alexis, Cindy (Mike) Line of Oak Run and Karin (Chris) Campagna of Oneia,  three brothers, Bob (Mary) Shull of Rio, Mike (Lori) Shull of Aledo and Darin (Tamara) Shull of Galesburg and his mother-in-law, Eula Johnston of Alexis, along with 18 nieces, nephews and a great niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Mass of the Christian burial will be 10:00A.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Alexis with Fr. John Burns.  Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery..  Friends may call after 3:00 P. M. on Friday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where his family will be present from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.    Memorials may be left for the Alexis Fire Department or OSF Hospice.
