Boock, Steve L.

Steve L. Boock, 63, of Monmouth, died 2:44 P.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at OSF St Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

He was born June 11, 1945 at Monmouth, the son of Karl and Helen (Korb) Boock.  He was raised and educated in the Monmouth area and graduated from Warren High School in 1964.

He worked for Monmouth Grain and Dryer, now Big River Resources for 41 years.  He also served as a Warren County Auxiliary Policeman for 25 years.  He assisted in teaching hunter safety classes for a number of years.

He was of Christian faith.  He was a lifetime member of Gold Wings Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and also a member of the Patriot Guard, Maple City Antique Tractors Club and Warren County Ducks Unlimited.

His family includes his companion, Diana Kelly of Monmouth, four daughters, Lynne Boock of Avon, JoAnn Mason of Marshall, MO, Melinda Berlin of Biggsville and Shannon (Jim) Miller of Oquawka, two sons, Kevin (Ashley) Boock of Marshall, MO and B.J. Kelly of Oquawka, 10 grandchildren and one Great Grandson, his Mother, Helen Boock of Monmouth, one brother, Robert (Mary) Boock of Monmouth and one sister Verda Boock of Havana, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Charles Boock. 

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Gerlaw Christian Church with David Pederson.  Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery.  Friends may call after 9 A.M. on Saturday at the Gerlaw Christian Church where his family will be present to receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Memorial may left for the Gerlaw Christian Church Building Fund or Strom Center.
