Holloway, Eva P.

Eva P. Holloway, 88, of Alexis, died 6:50 P.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, IL.

She was born October 4, 1920 in Knox County, the daughter of Harry and Inez (Duncan) Strickler.  She was raised and educated in Knox and Warren Counties.

Eva married Tom Holloway on January 6, 1941 in Kahoka, Missouri and he preceded her in death on July 30, 1999.

She and her husband owned and operated the Beachview Restaurant in Keithsburg from 1949 until 1951 and she had also worked at Pingers Grocery in Keithsburg for a time.  She enjoyed working with her flowers.

She has attended the First Christian Church in Keithsburg.

Her family includes two sons, Richard (Juanita) Holloway of Alexis and Wm (Bugs) Holloway of Florida, 3 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, Robert Holloway, in Vietnam.

Graveside services and burial will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2008 in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg with Rev. Chuck Reynolds of the First Christian Church, Keithsburg.  Friends may call after 9:00 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2008 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.   A memorial fund has been established to be designated later.  Online condolences may be left at hooverhall.com
