Betty June Olson, 83, of Abingdon formerly of Monmouth died at 11:30 A.M. Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Abingdon Care Center, Abingdon, IL

She was born October 4, 1925 in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Adair) Stotts.  She was reared and educated in Biggsville, graduating from Biggsville High School in 1943.  She attended Browns Business College in Galesburg.

Betty married Donald R. Olson in Burlington, Iowa on May 11, 1946 and he died at July 1, 2008

Betty worked for General Telephone in Monmouth for 20 years and the Warren county Housing Authority for 10 years, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.

Surviving is a daughter, Connie (Dennis) Chandler of Berwick; grandson, Chad (Nancy) Olson of Little York; 3 granddaughters, Julie (Jeff) Emerick of Berwick, Amanda June (Kevin) Ross of Cahokia, MO and Becky Jo (Steve) Winkler of Galesburg; 11 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Darrah of Monmouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, one son, Dennis Olson in 1995, grandson, Jason Chandler in 1983.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Eleanor Landon officiating.  Burial will be in Biggsville Cemetery.  Friends may call on Tuesday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel where her family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Memorials may be left for the Church of God of Prophecy or the Bethel Baptist Church.
