Peterson, Eilene J.

Eilene J. Peterson, 76 of Monmouth, died 11:17 A.M. Friday, April 10, 2009, at the Monmouth Nursing Home.

She was born June 24, 1932 near Millersburg, Mercer County, IL, the daughter of Ferrell G. and Elizabeth Jane (Marple) Robberson.  She was raised and educated in rural Rock Island and Mercer Counties and moving to Monmouth where she graduated from Monmouth High School in 1950.

Eilene married LeRoy W. Peterson in Monmouth on May 24, 1952 and he preceded her in death on September 29, 2007.

She was a License Day Care Provider for over 20 years.  She also had worked at the bowling alley, Monmouth College, Sears, Monmouth High School, Monmouth Stoneware and the Review Atlas and in latter years had worked at Econo Foods and County Market.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Monmouth and it’s Altar and Rosary Society.

He family includes one son Thomas (Vanya) Peterson of Monmouth, two grandsons, Grant (Bridget) Peterson of Mt. Olive, IL  and Mitchell (Heidi) Peterson of Monmouth, one great granddaughter, Quincy Peterson of Gillespie, IL along with nieces and nephews and close friend, Bill Widener of Monmouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Tina Marie Peterson , two sisters and one brother.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church, Monmouth.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Friends may call on Monday, April 13 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where the Rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. followed by visitation until 8:00 P.M.  Memorials may be left for Immaculate Conception School or the American Diabetes Association.
