Shumick Mary Jane

Mary Jane Shunick, 82 of Ottawa, formerly of Monmouth died April 15, 2009, in Peoria.

She was born December 5, 1926 in Chicago IL. the daughter of Robert F. and Agnes (Murphy) Blake. She graduated from Monmouth College and was a member of the Alpha Zi Delta Sorority.

Mary Jane married Robert “Bob” Shunick on June 11, 1964 in Monmouth and he survives.

She was and English teacher at Ottawa High School for many years.

Survivors include her husband Bob Shunick of Ottawa, one daughter, Regina Krueger of Olathe, KS, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside committal services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Monmouth.  Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth is in charge of the local arrangements. Online condolences may be left at hooverhall.com
