Tinder, Marilyn J.

Marilyn J. Tinder, 71, of Monmouth died at 4:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

She was born July 27, 1937 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of William and Lucy (Beachler) Tinder.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth graduating from Monmouth High School in 1955.

Marilyn worked for the General Telephone Electric CO. in Monmouth unit her retirement.  She later worked at Newsland and the Penny Saver both in Monmouth.  Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading traveling and cross stitching.  She enjoyed watching sports including the Chicago White Sox she was also an avid Illini fan.  Marilyn was a lifelong and loyal Chicago Cubs fan.

Survivors include her brother, Donny Tinder (and special friend, Phyllis Zang, nieces and nephews, David and Susie White of Long Grove, IL, Chris and Todd Sprout of Kirkwood, Angie and Pete Widolff of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Amy Hart of Arlington Heights, IL, great nieces and nephews, Megan and Richard Burton of Peoria, Danielle and Macy Sprout of Kirkwood, Luke and Alyssa Widolff of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Maggie and Parker White of Long Grove, Il, one brother-in-law, Dale Hart of Monmouth and special friend, June Sage of Monmouth.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Carol Hart.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth.  Cremation will follow the service with burial of ashes in Warrant County Memorial Park at a later date.  Fiends may call on Saturday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel where her family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.  Memorials may be left for Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund
