Sheila J. Enderlin Munter, 67, of Sycamore, IL formerly of Alexis died Thursday, May 7, 2009 in Sycamore, IL.

Sheila was born January 28, 1942 in Monmouth the daughter of Leslie P. and Frances (McGuane) Enderlin.  She was raised and educated in Alexis, graduating from Alexis High School in 1960.  She received her BA in English form Marycrest College in Davenport and her MA in English Literature from Western Illinois University.  She participated in NCTE Travel Seminar in Britain as Post Graduate Study.

Sheila married Duane Munter on September 2, 1976 in Sycamore and he died in 1998.

Shelia taught high school English from 1964-1988 in Davenport, IA and Sycamore, IL.  She was listed in Outstanding Young Women of America 1973.  Some of her accomplishments include Iowa Council of Teachers of English, Davenport Educational Association 1964-1973, Advanced Standing Program in English and the Scott County League of Women Voters.

She is survived by her sister, Lesley (James) Gibbs of Scottsdale, AZ; her niece, Erin Gibbs of Lorton, VA; nephews, Jim (Tara McAnarney) Gibbs of Springfield, IL, Joseph Gibbs of Los Angles, CA; grandniece, Macallan McAnarney Gibbs of Springfield, IL

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:00 Am. Saturday, May 9, 2009 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Alexis.  Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery.  Friends may call Saturday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present one hour prior to the services.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Dekalb County Hospice, 2727 Sycamore Rd., Suite 1B, Dekalb, IL 60115
