Connour, Margaret B .

Margaret B. Connour, 83,of Monmouth, died 3:00 P.M. Sunday, July 26, 2009, at the home of her daughter, rural Monmouth.

She was born June 5, 1926 in Lombard, IL. the daughter of Raymond and Madeline (Ritchie) Hansen. Margaret was adopted by her grandparents George and Margaret Ritchie. She was raised and educated in Maquon, graduating from Maquon High School  in 1946 and later attended Bradley University.

Margaret married Emerson Connour in Galesburg, Il on August 15, 1947 and he died October 1, 2007. 

Margaret worked cleaning offices, motels and homes until they moved out to Loveland, CO where she worked as a dietary Supervisor for Sierra Vista Nursing Home.  She retired to Estes Park, CO.  Both Margaret and Emerson worked in a clothing shop in Estes Park before moving back to Illinois in 1994.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary (Hank) Link of rural Monmouth; one son Emmerson Lee Connour of Wellington, CO;  two granddaughters, Michele Dixon of Lakeland, FL. And Kim Bison of Tempe, AZ;  three grandsons. Justin Connour of Wellington, CO., Todd Link of Alexis and Sean Link of Georgetown, TX; 8 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, husband, one granddaughter, Tracey Dixon.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 30, 2009 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Ken Muck officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Garden, Galesburg.  Friends may call Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.  A memorial fund has been established to be designated later.
