Leroy, Phyllis M. Icenogle .

Phyllis Marjory Icenogle Leroy, 88, of Rock Island, Il formerly of Monmouth died at  11:35 A.M. Monday, July 27, 2009 at the St. Anthony Nursing Home in Rock Island. IL

She was born April 23, 1921 in Monmouth, IL the daughter of Earl and Georgia (Craft) Icenogle.  She was raised and educated in Abingdon graduating from Abingdon High School in 1938.  She later graduated from Browns Business College in Galesburg in 1940.

Phyllis married Robert Gibson Leroy in Missouri in 1941.

She worked in the accounting department for the Rock Island Arsenal for 25 years.  She loved animals all her life especially cats.

Surviving is her sister in law, Mary Icenogle-Leafgreen of Rio along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers, Harold Icenogle and Cliff Icenogle and parents.

Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth with Rev Delbert Icenogle officiating.  No calling hours are planned at this time. Memorials may be left for the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, 724 West 2nd Ave, Milan, IL 61264.  Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth is in charge of the local arrangements.
