Ruth Elizabeth Brown,93, of Alexis, Il died at 3:08 A.M. Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the home of her daughter in Lacon, IL.

She was born February 27, 1916 in rural Warren Co. Il. the daughter of James and Nellie (Spain) Brock.  She was raised and educated in Warren County.

Ruth married Everett Walter Brown in Rock Island on April 8, 1935 and he passed away September 8, 2000.

Ruth was a homemaker and farmers wife who enjoyed collecting Holstein Cow figurines, flowers and gardening.

She was a member of the Alexis United Presbyterian Church and the Science Hall Club.

Surviving is her daughter, Reva (Howard) Hinderliter of Lacon, IL; two grandsons, Joseph Creek of Bettendorf, IA. and Terrence (Meredith) Bybee of Columbia, TN; one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Ann Bybee; three great-grandsons, Joshua Creek, Jeremy Creek and Campbell Bybee; 5 step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great grandson 1 sister, Esther Allen of Galesburg Il; 1 brothers, Claude Brock of Galesburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister and  four brothers.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M, Saturday, August 8, 2008 at the Alexis United Presbyterian Church with Pastor Phil Cooper officiating.  Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery.  Friends may call Friday, August 7, 2009 after 3:00 P.M. at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where her family will be present from 5:007:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the Alexis United Presbyterian Church or hospice Compassus.
