Agnes Kurtz Moake

Agnes Kurtz Moake, 87, of St. Louis, formerly of Keithsburg, died 12 noon, Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Joseph Health Center, St. Charles, MO.

She was born December 15, 1922 at Seaton, IL, the daughter of Samuel and Lillian (Mickey) Kurtz.

She was raised and educated in Seaton until moving to the St. Louis area where she graduated from Hadley High School in 1940.

Agnes married William W. Moake in 1951 and he preceded her in death.

She worked in the dress making industry in St. Louis as a Pattern Drafter.  After retiring she worked as an official at the Election Polss unitl the age of 86

She was a member of 3rd Baptist Church in St. Louis.  The Cumberland County Historical Society in Carlisle, Pennsylvania along with being a USO volunteer during World War II.

Her family includes one daughter, Alice Ferrante of St. Louis, one granddaughter, Donna Decilles, one great grandson, Andrew Decilles and one brother, John Kurtz of Doolittle, MO..

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Samuel Kurtz, Jr.

Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, August 20, 2010 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Todd Dahlgren of Immanuel Baptist Church, Monmouth. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Galesburg.  Friends may call on Friday at Hoover-hall Memorial Chapel where her family will be present one hour prior to the service.
