Richard "Dick" T. Taylor
Richard T. “Dick” Taylor, 73, of Dallas City, died 9:30 A.M. Thursday, December 15, 2011, at his home.
He was born July 23, 1938 in Warren County, IL, the son of Troy and Helen (Jacobs) Taylor. He was raised and educated in Kirkwood where he graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1956.
He was married to Rebecca Sandy. Dick married Barbara Schnedler on November 23, 1973 at Rock Island, IL and she survives.
He retired from J.I. Case in Burlington, IA after 18 years. He had previously worked at Great Plains Gas in Little York and at Arco Gas. He enjoyed family gatherings, fish fry’s and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and the river.
His family includes two daughters, Cindy (Dennis) Smith and Amy (Dale) Meth both of Burlington and one son, Stanley (Pat) Baker of Thibodaux, LA, 4 grandchildren, Ryan Baker, Kayla Baker, Cody Haigh and Taylor Smith, and one sister, Judy (Bob) Marker of Chandler, AZ along with nieces and nephews.
His parents, one grandson, Dalton Meth and one sister, Jan Van Winkle, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 19, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, with Rev. James Epperson of the First Christian Church of Monmouth. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery, Monmouth. Friends may call on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Hoover-Hall where his family will receive friends from noon until the time of services.
